Automatic Digital Format Conversion System is compatible with 1080i and 720P HDTV formats, 480P EDTV and 480i SDTV formats. Samsung digital format conversion system will accept any DTV, Analog TV, or computer RGB input. All video signals are converted to a true 16x9 wide-screen pixel count (1280 x 720 resolution) progressive display for flicker-free high definition images.

2nd Generation DMD Chip is Texas Instrument’s latest micro-display panel. Combined with Samsung’s advanced light processing optics, the result is an overall stunning picture quality that is clear, bright and with outstanding contrast. Samsung’s HDTV monitor televisions based on DLP™ technology will deliver a stunning picture quality that rivals any other display technology available today. On reliability, the Texas Instrument DMD panel is immune to the factors that can cause the performance of other display technologies - such as cathode ray tubes (CRT), plasma display panels (PDP), liquid crystal display systems (LCD, LCoS, HTPS), and film to deteriorate with ongoing use. The DLP™ panel is insusceptible to the damaging effects of heat, humidity, vibration, and aging. Projection systems using DLP™ technology enable you to see the creator's original vision at full impact again and again, no matter how many times a video or graphic has been projected.

Single DMD Panel Desing displays a bright clear high-definition picture without annoying focus and convergence artifacts seen in display designs that incorporate multiple display panels or multiple CRT’s. Samsung’s digital light processing engine incorporates a 24-bit color processing system that takes the place of multiple panel designs.

DVI HDTV Interface with HDCP copy protection enables an all-digital rendering of video without the losses associated with an analog interface. DVI supports up to 24-bit digital RGB data for each pixel for the highest image quality. DVI adds the quality and functionality of a digital interface while maintaining the simplicity of supporting uncompressed video formats. High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) provides a protected interface which will improve the availability of high value content such as premium high-definition video by means of new generation broadcast satellite receivers and new digital cable boxes. This DVI HDTV interface is compatible with the next generation name, HDMI.

Dual Tuner Picture-in-Picture enables convenient simultaneous viewing of two TV programs. Remote control PIP functions include the mixing a TV source and a video source, second screen size and positioning on the TV screen. A side-by-side twin picture mode is available on Samsung Tantus models.

3:2 Pull Down correction for film production that is transferred to video. The process called 3:2 pulldown is used to correct the difference in frame rates between 24 fps film and 30 fps video. 3:2 pulldown correction circuitry decodes the cadence found in film converted video for a smooth picture, free of visible motion artifacts as a result of the different frame speeds.

Dual HDTV Component Video Inputs accommodate HD satellite receivers, HDTV tuners and HD cable boxes that feature component video outputs (Y, Pb, Pr).

Picture Format Size Adjustment for different video formats by digitally expanding the picture to control toggles the set’s 5 options - Zoom 1, Zoom 2, Stretch, Panorama and Native Format.

Advanced Translucent On-Screen Display developed by Samsung enables viewing all on-screen display information and on-screen menus and simultaneously viewing the video in the background. All on-screen display text and icons can be viewed with superb legibility and without obscuring the picture.
