The media room is generally the location of the main audio and video equipment, though you may opt for a central location allowing convenient access from several rooms. You may also allow for easy access to the back of the equipment to arrange and re-arrange the normal jungle of patch and interconnect cables associated with A/V equipment. This option looks more elegant, because wires can be bundled and hidden more easily.

For electricity to power the equipment stack and the room, it is recommended that at least two dedicated 20-30 amp
circuits be run by the electrician. One is to power just the equipment stack, and the other is to power the whole-house
audio amplifiers and the media room wall outlets. You may opt to have the electrician put switched circuits for the
equipment in the wall adjacent to the electronics. This way the equipment can be turned on all at once with one switch,
with or without turning on the whole-house audio system.
