The Latest Tonearm Advancements from
Graham Engineering

Providing you a lifetime investment, the Graham tonearms reveal new levels of fidelity and enjoyment from your irreplaceable and valuable record collection. Check out the design features that keep the Graham tonearms at the forefront of tonearm design and musicality.

Read Bob Graham's white paper on tonearm design for an instructive lesson in the physics and engineering problems that a tonearm/cartridge system is faced with and how his arm is built to deal with them.

Graham 2.2 Tonearm

The new Graham 2.2 improves the most highly regarded tonearm available. A new bearing system with different design characteristics and materials yields significant improvements in the areas of bass extension, midbass/midrange fullnes and high frequency smoothness.

In addition to the new 2.2 tonearm, previous owners of Graham 1.5t, 2.0 and 2.1 models can simply upgrade to the new bearing system. Simply unscrew your old bearing assembly and replace with the new 2.2 brass bearing cap assembly. Please note that the 2.2 bearing caps are plated chrome or gold to match the other plated highlights on the Graham tonearm. Please specify desired finish when ordering your Graham 2.2 upgrade.

The Graham 2.1 Tonearm

The next step up from the award-winning 1.5 and 2.0 tonearms, the Graham Model 2.1 clearly redefines its position as the ultimate tonearm system. The Graham Model 1.5 Tonearm, which overcame engineering or user limitations present in most conventional or air-bearing designs, established properly designed and executed uni-pivot bearing designs at the forefront. Now, the Model 2 sets new industry standards in performance, accuracy of set-up and user friendliness. Leading phono cartridge and turntable manufacturers recommend the Model 2, providing their turntables pre-drilled for the Graham custom mount.

A sophisticated tungsten main housing highlights the new Model 2.1. The modular design of the Graham tonearms offer a field upgradeabie range starting from the 2.1 Basic. A special patented alignment fixture for cartridge installation yields geometric accuracy unprecedented in other tonearms, providing exceptional clarity, definition, and soundstage accuracy. The Graham 2.1 can be precisely mounted on your turntable, including cartridge installation, generally within 25 minutes.

Careful and logical engineering, on-going research for new materials and refinements, combined with precision fabrication and meticulous hand-assembly has resulted in a tonearm which consistently exceeds the competition. In addition, we have increased production to satisfy the continuing demand for our products. As a result, the new Series 2.1 tonearms are available at no increase in price over the earlier 1.5t/c series.

Providing you a lifetime investment, the Series 2.1 tonearms reveal new levels of fidelity and enjoyment from your irreplaceable and valuable record collection.

The Graham Robin Tonearm

The Robin is a new tonearm from Graham Engineering, designed to fit into the budget of many audiophiles who have such popular turntables as the Clearaudio Champion and Solution series, the Basis 1400-series, the VPI HW-19, the Rega, or any other similar turntable.

The Robin is a simple tonearm in design, yet is built with the hightest quality in the Graham Engineering tradition. We have engineered several key features which contribute to it's superior sound and this will be readily observed by comparison to any competitive tonearm.

Very importantly, the Robin is fully user-compatible with the deluxe Series 2.2 and 2.1 arms; that is, the Robin uses the same mounting hole pattern arrangement and, with it's removable headshell, can use the Graham Engineering patented cartridge alignment system. (optional accessory)

Of course, the Robin has adjustable anti-skate and VTA, and we have designed the new mounting bases so that the arm will not fall when the VTA locking screw is loosened. The arm can easliy be slid up and down to the correct height and then locked into place. (A special note: we have engineered a special version of the mounting base which is intended for drop-in replacement on all Rega turntables.)

The Robin tonearm will give new life and new dimension to your popular-priced turntable system.

The Graham Nightingale Tonearm

The Graham Nightingale is singing at last! After nearly three years of research and development, Graham Engineering is proud to introduce a new integral playback system that should redefine many notions of what analog is capable of.

A joint development between Bob Graham and Immutable Music's Seiji Yoshioka, the Nightingale integral armwand/cartridge system brings to those fortunate owners of the Graham tonearm an unprecedented level of natural musicality and refinement.

Combining Seiji Yoshioka's brilliant yokeless ring-magnet generator design with a very special coil wire sourced by Graham Engineering, Bob Graham utilizes a new, less resonant body shape and bonds it to a dedicated, specially designed ceramic armwand. Each cartridge is hand-aligned by Graham at the factory, then cartridge leads are actually soldered to the cartridge, further reducing potential signal loss, due to poor clip contact.

The result of those two years of research and refinement is nearly indescribeable musicality and naturalness, emerging from an eerily quiet background that should make even the most die-hard digital devotees sit up and take notice. This is truly analog for the 21st century.

Graham Engineering offers a full line of accessories which will complement your tonearm purchase whether it be the full-blown Model 2.2 or the entry-level Robin. All of Graham Engineering's accessories are designed and built to be the optimum choice for your Graham tonearm. Graham Engineering also realizes the importance of offering an upgrade path so that customers can also have the latest products without throwing away thier initial investments. For this reason, most Graham tonearms (except Robin) are completely upgradable to the current reference Model 2.2.
